22 International Hotels Opening in 2025

New properties in Aruba, China and Greece are among those welcoming international events this year.

While planners have their pick of properties opening in the United States this year, there also is a wealth of hotels and resorts debuting abroad. From beachfront escapes in Bali to lavish accommodations in Lake Como, Italy, there is something for every type of group, traveler and budget. 

Aruba

St. Regis Aruba Resort
Opened: January
The opening of the 252-room upscale property marked two milestones: It's the first St. Regis on the island and the first casino for the brand. Highlights include access to the coveted Palm Beach, the signature butler service and nearly 19,000 square feet of conference venues. One of five on-site restaurants, Akira Back serves steak and sushi, and is the only rooftop restaurant in Aruba. 

Austria

Mandarin Oriental Vienna
Opened: October
The Mandarin Oriental Vienna began welcoming guests to the Austrian capital earlier this fall. Amenities include a full-service spa, an indoor pool and three dining outlets. The 151-key property also has four event rooms totaling 3,700 square feet. 

Brazil

W São Paulo
Opened: January
Marriott's W brand has launched its flagship property in Brazil. The hotel has 179 rooms, two restaurants, three bars and five event rooms totaling more than 9,000 square feet. Towering over the city on the 39th floor, the Away Spa incorporates native ingredients — including açai, buriti and umbu — into its treatments, which are named after such local regions as Amazon, Caatinga and Pampas Gaúchos.

Canada

Nobu Hotel Toronto
Opened: June
Nobu made its Canadian debut with 660 residential units and 36 suites above the historic Pilkington Glass Factory in Toronto's entertainment district. Amenities include a private lounge for hotel guests, a wellness facility and more than 15,000 square feet of function space. The two-level Nobu restaurant has a separate bar and lounge, two private dining rooms, a sushi bar, and an outdoor terrace. 

China

The Dali Edition
Opening: December
The Dali Edition is set to debut at the end of the year, marking the third property in China for the Marriott brand. Plans for the hotel include 150 rooms — most of which will have views of either Cangshan Mountain or Erhai Lake — plus multiple bars and restaurants, and a 6,400-square-foot event lawn.

Costa Rica

Waldorf Astoria Costa Rica Punta Cacique
Opened: March
Secluded white-sand beaches and a multilevel pool await guests at the Waldorf Astoria Costa Rica Punta Cacique. The new resort is nestled along the coastline of the Guanacaste Province, one of the country's famed "Blue Zones," where studies show that inhabitants live longer, healthier lives than the global average. The hotel provides 190 guest rooms and 41 residences. For groups, there is more than 10,000 square feet of event space available, as well as six dining outlets and a cenote-inspired spa for adding wellness touches. 

Czech Republic

Fairmont Golden Prague
Opened: April
The former InterContinental Prague reopened under the Fairmont flag this spring. In the city's Old Town, the 320-room hotel offers six food-and-beverage outlets and wellness experiences; its event space includes a 6,400-square-foot ballroom, plus three rooftop boardrooms with balconies. A work of art in and of itself, as one of the world's first representations of the Brutalist style, the building houses an extensive collection honoring Czech art and film.

Denmark

Rox Resort
Opened: November
In the harbor town of Køge, 30 minutes outside Copenhagen, the Rox Resort debuted Nov. 1. The property includes 154 rooms and nine event rooms. With a focus on movement, there are two padel courts, three pools, a golf simulator and a soccer field. After playing, guests can rehydrate at one of five bars across the resort. 

Dominican Republic

Fiesta Americana Funeeq
Opening: Late 2025
Hospitality group Posadas is launching a new all-inclusive brand in Punta Cana. There will be no shortage of dining options, with 10 restaurants and six bars, including a cigar bar and a juice bar. With a focus on entertainment, plans for the resort include an arcade, a bowling alley and a sprawling waterpark. Planners can take advantage of the 25,000 square feet of conference venues. 

St. Regis Cap Cana Resort
Opened: May
The St. Regis Cap Cana Resort has been welcoming guests since the spring. With 182 rooms and 28 suites, including a 6,500-square-foot presidential suite, the property also has nearly 34,000 square feet of function areas for groups. Bring your golf clubs, as the resort is home to the Jack Nicklaus-designed Punta Espada course, ranked no. 1 in the Caribbean. 

Greece

JW Marriott Crete Resort and Spa
Opened: June
Anyone dreaming of spending the summer on a Greek island now can add the JW Marriott Crete Resort and Spa to their list of options. The brand's first property in the country features 160 rooms, suites and villas — most of which have private pools — and two event venues. On-site dining options include a sea-to-table experience at Oñalos, Italian fare at Cuccagna and traditional Cretan cuisine at Anoee.

Indonesia

Regent Bali Canggu
Opened: November
Upon opening, the Regent Bali Canggu is the premiere Regent Hotels and Resorts property in Indonesia following its acquisition by IHG Hotels and Resorts in 2018. The beachfront resort provides 150 suites and villas, nine pools, and 36,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor function areas, including a 5,300-square-foot beach lawn. Five food-and-beverage outlets offer a range of cuisines, from authentic Indonesian dishes at signature restaurant Taru, to Spanish tapas at Sazón.

Japan

Waldorf Astoria Osaka
Opened: April
The 248-key Waldorf Astoria Osaka debuted this spring, just ahead of peak Sakura (cherry blossom) season. At the spa, wellness experiences incorporate Japanese healing traditions, such as ancient temple bells and green tea infusions, into tailored treatments. Nearly 12,000 square feet of conference space is available for groups. 

Italy

Lake Como Edition
Opening: Fall
The Lake Como Edition is scheduled to open at the end of the year with 148 rooms, including two penthouse suites. The hotel features a private dock and waterfront restaurants with views of the Bellagio mountains. A refurbished 19th-century building, the property also will include a fitness center and a spa with 10 treatment rooms. Meeting space has not yet been announced.

W Florence
Opened: July
Many iconic scenes in La Bella Florence are steps from the 119-room W Hotel, which also is a stone's throw from the Ponte Vecchio. The property's extreme WOW Suite offers a large living space and a private terrace with views of the Duomo and the Santa Maria Novella church. On the ground floor, the W Lounge and Living Room surround a partially covered courtyard. Four event rooms total more than 1,300 square feet. 

Netherlands

Rosewood Amsterdam
Opened: May
A project 10 years in the making, the Rosewood Amsterdam now is open in the former Palace of Justice. Embodying the Dutch concept of "gezelligheid" — or "a welcoming and cozy atmosphere" — the luxe hotel provides 134 rooms and 9,000 square feet of event areas. Advocatuur, the in-house distillery that produces jenever, offers a tasting room in a former jail cell that serves as an ode to the building's past. 

Panama

Hotel La Compañía del Valle
Opened: May
Part of Hyatt's Unbound Collection, Hotel La Compañía del Valle welcomes travelers to Panama's scenic Valle de Antón. The property features 70 rooms, three food-and-beverage outlets, and more than 11,400 square feet of meeting venues, including a 6,724-square-foot auditorium. When not relaxing at the pool or in the 18,000-square-foot spa, guests can go hiking or horseback-riding through the lush landscape, or explore the on-site sculpture park featuring 200 artworks. 

Qatar

Rosewood Doha
Opened: July
The Rosewood Doha opened last month with 155 rooms and suites, 162 apartments, and 276 residences. Guided dhow experiences, traditional falconry introductions, calligraphy workshops and art studio visits immerse travelers into the region's rich culture. The hotel's 26,800 square feet of conference venues consist of a grand ballroom, four galleries, prefunction space and more. 

Saudi Arabia

The Red Sea Edition
Opened: October
Part of the Red Sea hotel development, the Red Sea Edition has debuted soon on Shura Island. Marking the second Saudi Arabian property for the brand, the hotel features 240 rooms, two restaurants, a spa and more. Other brands involved in the project are Four Seasons, SLS and Raffles, among others. 

Singapore

Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree
Opened: April
Within the Mandai Wildlife Reserve, the 11-acre resort provides direct access to Singapore's zoological parks. Accommodations range from 314 rooms and suites to 24 treehouses with private patios. The property also has 6,300 square feet of conference venues, and offers such experiences as wildlife safaris and hiking along the nature trails.  

Turks & Caicos

Salterra, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa
Opened: March
Salterra, a Luxury Collection resort from Marriott, began welcoming guests to the South Caicos island this winter. The property includes 100 rooms, six dining options and 7,480 square feet for conferences. The resort uses solar energy, eliminates single-use plastic, and has cofounded the South Caicos Coral Reef Consortium to research, replant and restore the island's coral reefs. As of February, American Airlines offers direct flights from Miami to South Caicos every Wednesday and Friday.

United Arab Emirates

Mandarin Oriental Downtown Dubai
Opened: November
The Mandarin Oriental Downtown Dubai was unveiled in November. The luxury property includes 259 rooms and 224 residences, an 11th-floor rooftop lap pool and a helipad. The hotel resides within the Wasl Tower, which holds the title for the region's tallest ceramic façade.
