Construction has topped out on a new headquarters hotel for the Miami Beach Convention Center. The 800-room Grand Hyatt Miami Beach is expected to debut in late 2027. The 17-story property will be directly connected to the convention center via a climate-controlled skybridge.
Plans call for 110,000 square feet of dedicated meeting space, including an 8,000-square-foot grand lawn on the fifth-floor rooftop. The property will also feature 17,000 square feet of retail space, two pools, a signature restaurant, a lobby bar, and a fitness center with a spa room.
"This project represents a critical piece of our convention ecosystem, and its continued progress reinforces Greater Miami and Miami Beach's position as a premier destination for world-class meetings, conventions and events," said David Whitaker, president and CEO of the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau. "The addition of a hotel of this size and its connection to the convention center has opened the door for literally dozens of major conventions and trade shows that have never convened here to now show an interest and a desire. That in itself is transformative."
Once the hotel has opened, developers plan to add new public spaces, pedestrian-friendly promenades, bike-sharing stations and more public transit connectivity to the area.
