The Lodge at Woodloch, in Hawley, PA kicked off the new year with a newly renovated spa relaxation area. The multimillion-dollar renovation added seating to meet the increased demand of spa treatments.

The women's retreat area more than doubled its seating and relaxation area and the men's retreat gained an additional 30 percent seating. Additionally, another room was added.

"One of the additions is Gather - A Social Suite, which showcases seating in small groups to encourage quiet conversation while relaxing after a treatment," explained Nancy Deaton, the property's spa director.

Design firm D'Aquino Monaco headed the project with the goal of keeping in tune with the building's architecture. Soft crème white paneling, tongue and groove wainscoting and ceiling detailing and lounge-like furniture have been added.

Outside of Whisper - A Silent Sanctuary is a new screened-in porch with hanging swings, outdoor loungers, and pendant bells from a local artisan.

The Lodge at Woodloch, an all-inclusive spa resort, is set on more than 500 wooded acres with a private lake, about two-and-a-half hours outside of New York City. There are 58 guest rooms, the 40,000-square-foot spa, gourmet restaurant, complete fitness programs, and educational forums.

"The Lodge at Woodloch is a unique meetings location for executives and small groups to get away and gain new perspectives," said Robert Baldassari, general manager of The Lodge at Woodloch. "The private and secluded setting, beautiful natural surroundings of fern carpeted forests allow for groups to awaken their creativity and focus on their priorities."

Group activities include forest bathing, a popular way for groups to refocus, get fresh air, and retune their minds deep in the surrounding wooded area, art classes, meditation, yoga, guided hikes, and cooking demonstrations.

There are plenty of active indoor options as well, in the property's expansive cardio/weight training studio, spinning room, rowing room, yoga/meditation studio, and dance/fitness studios. Spa services focus on the use of natural ingredients, incorporating therapies from Europe and the Far East as well as indigenous elements.

Meeting rooms include the 1,350-square-foot Fireside Room that features large windows letting in natural light and state-of-the-art AV equipment, the River Birch Board Room, and several outdoor areas.
