Its Curio Collection brand is growing its Caribbean footprint, according to Hilton Worldwide, which this week announced the signing of its first property in St. Lucia: Harbor Club, a new, nautical-themed luxury hotel that opened last month in Gros Islet, a community near St. Lucia's northern tip.

"As our first Curio Collection by Hilton property in St. Lucia, the signing of Harbor Club speaks to our commitment to further expanding Hilton's presence in the region," said Gregory W. Rockett, vice president of corporate hotel development for Hilton. "Recognized as a luxurious destination in the Caribbean, St. Lucia continues to see an increase in tourist arrivals year after year, and we look forward to returning to the island and providing travelers with an authentic experience."

Located at Gros Islet's Rodney Bay, Harbor Club -- which in April will officially become Harbor Club St. Lucia, Curio Collection by Hilton -- has 115 guest rooms and suites designed to resemble the cabins aboard a luxury cruise, including a selection of "swim-up" rooms that are located on the ground floor, where they have private patios and direct swim-up access to an adjacent pool.

Amenities include four bars, six restaurants, a spa, a gym, four swimming pools, and approximately 7,000 square feet of meeting and event space.

"The signing of Harbor Club reflects the values of Curio Collection by Hilton with distinct amenities such as direct swim-up access to guest rooms and bespoke treatments at the spa," said Mark Nogal, global head of Curio Collection by Hilton. "With the anticipated addition of this distinguished hotel to our global portfolio of nearly 50 hotels in more than 10 countries, we continue to expand the collection in the Caribbean and Latin America with remarkable properties that offer exceptional service and one-of-a-kind experiences for our guests."

Launched in 2014, Hilton's Curio Collection brand consists of "distinctive" independent hotels operating within the Hilton network. The collection currently comprises nearly 50 upper upscale hotels and resorts around the world.

"We are proud to partner with such a widely-recognized global hospitality company, particularly since the Curio Collection by Hilton pillars closely align with what we envision for the future of our hotel," said Wes Hall, owner of Harbor Club. "Through this alliance, we will introduce a new standard of upper upscale accommodation to travelers visiting St. Lucia."
