Eight new overwater bungalows have been added to the luxury Four Seasons Bora Bora, bringing the South Pacific property's accommodations to 108 overwater bungalows on turquoise lagoons.
Six of the new 1,120 square-foot suites also feature 11-by-8-foot infinity-edge plunge pools on their decks, and plunge pools were added to six existing overwater bungalow suites, bringing the total number of overwater accommodations with pools to 27. Each of the one- and two-bedroom overwater bungalow suites have been given a more contemporary Polynesian feel with new furniture, lighting and technology, including 55-inch Chromecast-enabled televisions. To be kinder to the Earth, solar panels have been installed on each bungalow's thatched roof, providing a natural and sustainable power source for heating water.
The property also offers seven 2- and 3-bedroom beachfront villas, one of which has been renovated as a sample of what's to come for the other six. In 2020, they will receive new pools with decks, and stand-alone kitchens will be built nearby for catering. The whole resort, or all the villas or even just a cluster or two of overwater bungalows are available for buyouts.
A new shopping experience has been added to the resort, called MoeMoea ("dream" in Polynesian). Presented by the Maris Collective, the offerings combine the best of resort wear, casual and active apparel, accessories, women's luxe apparel, swimwear and more from such known brands as Camilla, Missoni, Onia, Solid & Striped, Vilebrequin and Zimmermann. Items from boutique brands such as Adriana Iglesias, Benson and Swims, B+S Caftans, March 11 and Su Paris also will be available. The store was designed by renowned architect Pierre-Jean Picart and Maris Collective; in a unique twist, guests will be able to swim up to MoeMoea from the lagoon, heading up a set of stairs to the entrance.
"As one of the world's most celebrated resorts, we are thrilled to showcase our new and enhanced overwater bungalow suites, as well as MoeMoea," said Diego Stembert, general manager of Four Seasons Resort Bora Bora. "We believe that life is better over water, and now our overwater experience is better than ever."
