The Society for Incentive Travel Excellence has announced the dates and some details for its SITE Global Conference 2021, which will be a hybrid event taking place Feb. 2-3. The conference will offer networking, interactive workshops and content in five categories: making a business case for incentive travel, personal resilience, innovation and transition, regeneration, and destination deep dives. Keynote sessions include "Redesigning Events for Human Connection" and "Watch Out for Those Gorillas: The Transformative Power of Incentive." The full roster of sessions and speakers will be revealed Jan. 12 on SITE’s events page.

In other SITE news, Rebecca Wright, CIS, CITP, has been named interim executive director, following Didier Scaillet’s resignation in October 2020. Wright joined SITE in 2019 as head of chapter engagement; previously, she served as a chapter leader for SITE Chicago and was a member of the SITE international board of directors.

Upon her appointment, Wright said "2020 has been a tumultuous year for all business events professionals but despite the difficulties and the challenges, SITE remained united and strong. We now face 2021 with a renewed sense of community and an even stronger belief that incentive travel is transformational for qualifiers, businesses and society at large. I’m delighted to serve as interim executive director and look forward to leading our wonderful executive leadership team as we continue to deliver value to our members, to be the voice for the “I” in MICE and to highlight the business case for incentive travel.”

In other leadership changes, Aoife Delaney, CIS, CITP, director of marketing & sales at DMC Network, began her term as 2021 president of SITE’s board of international directors, and Terry Manion, CIS, CITP, senior vice president of business development for Creative Group Canada, has started his tenure as 2021 president of the SITE Foundation.
