Marriott International has signed agreements for the development of two all-inclusive beachfront Caribbean properties: an 800-room Marriott Hotel in Jamaica and a 283-room Autograph Collection on Curacao.
The Marriott Hotel Al Amaterra will be part of Jamaica's Amaterra Resort, a mixed-use development along the island's north coast. The hotel is slated to open in 2022.
The Curacao property will be an Autograph Collection resort in the Pietermaai district of Willemstad, the capital of Curaçao. The resort is scheduled to open in 2024.
The properties are the latest additions to Marriott International's all-inclusive expansion bid. Earlier this year, the company announced that four all-inclusive properties under its Ritz-Carlton, Autograph Collection, Westin Hotels and Marriott Hotels brands would open between 2022 and 2025 in Mexico's Riviera Nayarit, and a 650-room all-inclusive Autograph Collection would debut in the Dominican Republic in 2022. In October, the company announced a deal to acquire Elegant Hotels, which owns and operates seven hotels in Barbados.
"The signings for these two incredible, all-inclusive resorts in Jamaica and Curacao underscore the tremendous momentum for our all-inclusive platform, which leverages Marriott International's iconic brands, leading business support systems and Marriott Bonvoy travel program," said Laurent de Kousemaeker, chief development officer, Marriott International Caribbean and Latin America.
