Gift card, prepaid card and fulfillment company National Gift Card has been rebranded as NGC. The firm, which manages digital and physical cards for more than 500 retail brands throughout North America, simplified its name to better position itself in the growing digital gift card marketplace. The organization's leadership describes the name change as an opportunity to emphasize the company's expanding mobile and digital offerings.
Servicing prepaid card programs for thousands of corporate clients for B2B and B2C prepaid card programs for their incentive, loyalty and consumer reward efforts, NGC has been steadily deepening its digital offerings. More than half of the company's card activations come from digital cards, and included in its products and services are a proprietary gift card ordering portal, gift card API platform, mobile fundraising program, and B2C and B2B eCommerce websites and mobile apps for merchants. NGC plans to launch an enhanced gift card API service early next year.
"Dropping 'National Gift Card' from our name and moving to 'NGC' reinforces our company's mobile influence and digital expertise," said Eric Thiegs, NGC's chief revenue officer. "NGC will continue to maintain and honor its position as the leader in physical gift card fulfillment, but we've greatly evolved over the last several years into a nimble, technology-focused company revolutionizing the way brands interact with the consumer and corporate digital stored value markets."
The announcement comes just under a year after NGC's acquisition of Benefit Mobile, which expanded its mobile-based branded-currency offerings with gifting and self-use features, "shop and earn" integrations for loyalty programs, mobile wallet integration, and gift card malls.
