Gift card provider Blackhawk Network extended its shopping spree in the incentive arena with the recent purchase of extrameasures, a prepaid consumer promotions and incentives company.
In announcing the acquisition, Blackhawk noted that extrameasures' focus on helping businesses drive consumer acquisition, engagement, and loyalty will complement its large and growing engagement and incentive business. Last year, Blackhawk Network created a separate division for this business sector, Blackhawk Engagement Solutions, a global solution provider.
"Extrameasures' corporate incentive programs are complementary to our incentives portfolio and will enhance Blackhawk's leadership position in both the corporate and the consumer promotions markets," said Talbott Roche, Pleasanton, CA-based Blackhawk Network's president and CEO, in statement. "Additionally, the extrameasures acquisition furthers our ability to provide innovative prepaid products, solutions and technology to meet the needs of corporations who want to incent and reward their consumers."
Other incentive industry firms Blackhawk has acquired include Parago, InteliSpend, CardLab, and Incentec Solutions, as well as last year's purchase of Achievers, a leading provider of employee recognition and rewards solutions.
