Eric Griffin

Managing Director of Research and Innovation, Dallas Regional Chamber

Eric Griffin is the managing director of research and innovation at the Dallas Regional Chamber where he provides technical research and data/policy analysis to support sustainable economic development and emerging technologies in the Dallas metropolitan area. The things he likes most about his day job is telling data-rich stories about his home town and his constant proximity to the next big thing that elevates people to higher levels of social evolution. Esports, and more generally gaming, is currently that next big thing for him. Griffin has a particular bundle of competencies and diversity of experience that includes legislative advocacy and policy formulation; performance-based budgeting and measurement; resource (financial) development; natural resource management, sustainability and smart cities activism; workforce talent recruitment, development and retention; and economic development. He is interested in the intersection of emerging technologies like AI, XR, IoT, blockchain, quantum computing and gaming—specifically how each might support and enhance the capabilities of the others in order to raise the lowest standards of living that humanity is currently willing to accept.
